Interesting Stories about Poseidon:

Poseidon liked Demeter at one point. To distract him, Demeter asked Poseidon to make the most beautiful animal that the world had ever seen. So to impress her Poseidon created the first horse. In some accounts his first attempts were unsucessful and created a varity of other animals in his quest. By the time the horse was created his passion for Demeter had cooled.

Poseidon saw the water nymph Amphitrite dancing in the island of Naxos and instantly fell in love with her. He  asked her to marry him but  she refused. Posedon was not discouraged and instead sent one of his servant, a dolphin to look for her. The dolphin found her, and pleaded Poseidon's cause so well that she changed her mind. As a reward for finding and returning Amphitrite to him, Poseidon immortalized the dolphin by placing it in the heavens as the constellation Dolphinus.
