Pronunciation: HEE ruh

Job: Goddess of Marriage, the home and childbirth
Symbol: Peacock
Birth: Daughter of Kronos and Rheia. Hera had three brothers, Zeus, Poseidon and Hades, and two sisters Demeter and Hestia. Lived inside Kronos's stomach.
Marriage: She was the Queen of Heaven and married to Zeus
Children:  Hephaestus and Ares

Interesting Stories about Hera:
 
Zeus tried to court Hera unsuccesfully. He then  changing himself into a dying cuckoo. Hera felt sorry for the bird and held it to her breast to warm it. Zeus then resumed his normal form and took advantage of Hera.  He then raped her. She married him to cover her shame.

Hera very jealous  of Zeus's many affairs. One of these affairs was with Io was an Argive princess. Zeus, tried to hind the affair with Io transformed her into a cow. Hera knew something was wrong and asked for the cow as a present. Zeus could not say no. Hera gave the cowto Argus, the watchman with a hundred eyes. Io was eventually rescued by Hermes. Hera still tortured her by send a bee that chased her wherever she went.
