Interesting Stories about Aphrodite:

Aphrodite could be  kind and cruel. Pygmalion is an example of her kindness and cruelty. The women of Cyprus made Aphrodite mad,  so she made them all prostitutes. This sickened Pygmalion, and so he decided to create his own lover. He formed a woman out of ivory, and loved her as if she was his wife. One day Aphrodite heard the prayers of Pygmalion, and she brought the ivory statue to life. She watched as they became happily married.

When Paris was asked to judge who was the most beautiful between Hera, Athene and Aphrodite,he chose Aphrodite. The other two had hoped to bribe him with power and victory in battle, but Aphrodite offered the love of the most beautiful woman in the world; Helen of Sparta. She later became Helen of Try or "The face that launched a thousand ships". In the  Trojan War, Hera and Athena were enemies of Troy while Aphrodite was loyal to Paris and the Trojans.
